Bird for a spin on Sunday, in the misting cold. He was not enthused about the bareback pad situation. Neither was Tinnie, who performed a protest levade without any success. Everybody survived and the boys relaxed a little as time went on, but clearly we need more bareback pad outings for everyone's sake. No project pony work as the mud was very muddy.

In case you weren't aware, it's been a hundred years since WW1 ended on November 11, 1918. Also in case you weren't aware, they are STILL DIGGING UP LIVE ORDNANCE FROM THE BATTLEFIELDS IN FRANCE AND BELGIUM, among other places in Europe. They call it the Iron Harvest.

No shit, this is a Real Thing and it is still a pretty substantial issue, like France gets about 900 tons per year of this stuff, dug out of the ground mostly by regular people in their fields and gardens.
