At the puppet movie, while I was discussing the lushly realized extensions of the original material offered by fanfic, I put forth Chaos (the fanfic) as an example of what I was talking about. Roy mentioned an interest seeing the darned thing, so here are links for the amount currently written... please note that I DID NOT WRITE THIS. Aashby, or possibly theatersm (not sure which alias she prefers), wrote it. I am just providing it here as an example of fanfic that is sometimes more fully realized and more fulfilling than the original.
