Also, it's a beautiful, low-humidity day with cool weather. It'd be a great morning to get out on the horse and *ride*. However, it's also the third roundup, which is the 4-H show thing... that means that Cass and her pony and my truck are at the fairgrounds and will be all day. *sigh* No pony outing for me today, then. Not sure about tomorrow -- she's staying overnight at a friend's house tonight and may not be around on Sunday, either. I'm kind of disappointed about that because weekends are when we can do a more leisurely ride instead of having to be home by dark. Weeknights, we're kind of limited to two hours because despite my best fucking efforts, it is not possible to be sitting on the horse before quarter-to-six. I'd have to be magical to manage it faster. (I could pack my horse stuff in my work truck and go directly from work to horse without going home first. That'd shave half an hour off the time required, easy.)
I asked Cass about what we would be doing when school started up (because the ride is Sept. 22 and thus there will be school for at least part of our conditioning) and she said that she gets home from school before I get home from work anyway, so no worries there. It'll make for some late nights on her part, but if we move one of the 3x-a-week rides to the weekend, that might not be so bad. We'll have to see, I guess.
And now I've gotta burn pictures to CD and go visit my aunt (who wants company) and then go look at the horse show. Busy day, busy day.
