So I'm winding up the wool for the Hooves of Hot Iron and I've got
The Pirate Movie going in the background for noise while I'm doing that. For those of you who are not aware of
The Pirate Movie, it's a Ted Hamilton/Kristy McNichol/Christopher Atkins parody of Gilbert and Sullivan's
Pirates of Penzance. It is, all things considered, a dreadful movie. I'd not run out and spend money on it if you haven't seen it already.
However, I was more-or-less watching it because it's in English and I don't have to read subtitles. Since I've seen it before, I don't have to pay very much attention to the damn thing and I can still look up for the good lines and the entertaining shots. Finally, I think Ted Hamilton is something of a hottie in this movie. (Captain Jack Sparrow was not the first pirate I knew who wore eyeliner.) Anyway. So I'm watching this movie which I have seen more than twenty or thirty times (Not exaggerating.) and for which I can recite large chunks of dialogue. You'd think that there would be nothing new for this movie to offer me. You'd think that.
( You'd be wrong... )
