We're still waiting on the alleged refund from the telco. They printed it on the bill and when I called today to inquire after how the refund process was progressing, they allowed as how the refund had been approved and that now we're just waiting for the telco to cut us a check. Uhm, yeah. So when can we have that? I was kind of wanting a new roof on my freaking house, you know...

They said they'd call us when it was mailed out. Yeah, right. That'll be Real Soon Now, I feel certain.

Made some progress on the HoHI this evening -- they go round and round really fast nowadays -- I'm about done with calf decreases and just have an inch and a half to go until the heel split. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Which telco is it again? If it's one of the smaller ones, you might want to offer them a payment plan...

The telco is Embarq, who used to be Sprint before they decided that they didn't know how to spell embark instead.

Ah. I missed this spin-off. The communications world is filled with people who can't spell. Embarq, Espire, Equinix... the list goes on and on.

According to the press release I found, Embarq has $6b in annual revenue. They shouldn't have any problems writing a small check.

Ain't it rich... they give Joe Consumer less than 30 days to pay them the money they're owed, but take their sweet time to give it back. Too bad you can't charge them late fees...

Apparently, the telco called yesterday to issue the following statement: The check is in the mail. They claim it should be here in five to seven days. Mmm-hmm.
