In other very interesting news, it seems that W has appointed Princeton prof Ben Shalom Bernanke to Chairman of the Federal Reserve. This appointment awaits Senate confirmation but he's not an unexpected or irrational choice and will probably be confirmed. I'll keep you posted, of course.

Yes, I wondered what you thought of the choice.

I gather that the White House wasn't fond of Greenspan, as he kept giving his opinion on things. They seemed to be concentrating on that aspect of this person.
