Updates have been sparse because I'm spending the better part of every workday evening (except Thursdays, which are for pony) feeding my old and decrepit pony and holding her out on grass. She looks like a toast rack. *sigh*
It takes Meat quite a while to eat so while she is doing that (she is sensible and stays in the yard with her feed bucket, does not need to be tied) I've been getting the babies (Peake and Te) out of the upper field and beating* on them while they chow down on grain. As growing babies, they need calories above and beyond just pasture but I don't see the point in wasting the time it takes them to eat. They can eat and learn, both.
*The beating does not contain much actual beating. It's mostly just reviewing skills like "Let me touch you all over your body" and "Allow yourself to be groomed" and "Let me pick up your feet and hold them" and "Scoot side to side for me" and so forth. There isn't much beating at all.
And since I started throwing grain around with abandon, I dewormed the babies and Meatly, again, just on general principles.
