At least you have a safe place to vent your anger at rude people. You have my sympathies. People should never make assumptions. For years, when I was growing up, I waited until I knew somebody before telling them my father was a doctor. Otherwise, they immediately assumed that I was a privileged brat who went to private school and belonged to an exclusive country club. If I'd told them most of his patients are welfare recipients and he had often been given produce in lieu of immediate payment (before federal laws tightened), they'd never have believed me.
