Xmas turkey went well, not overdone, stuffing in the bird was OK, stuffing outside of the bird needed to be moister. I'll have a better idea what to do next time. Pies were, of course, no worry. Turkey cooked down into twenty-one cups of stock, which, yay, I bagged and froze this evening.

I'm trying out the Penzey's Vindaloo recipe/powder that comes on the box. I didn't mince the onion because I am not much on mincing. I sliced 'em. It's not done yet, but the flavor is fine, pleasantly hot but not overly so. Working with pork vindaloo (but you knew that). The bottle has directions for "pork" and "beef" which the beef seems a little weird to me for, y'know, indian food, but whatever.

Currently amusing television is The Vicar of Dibley, which is delightful. Lots of fun, that.

Progress on spinning -- going along swimmingly with the black sheep wool. I have almost enough for a sizeable plying session. I'm thinking two-ply for mittens, maybe. Mittens for me, out of yarn I spun myself. Wouldn't that be most cool?

Toddler hat needs about an inch and a half, maybe two inches. I'll have to work on that, but tonight is for spinning.

The Vicar of Dibley is great. Loves me some Dawn French. Father Ted is really good, too. It's set in Ireland and featured much mocking of drunken lecherous catholic priests.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you are enjoying Vicar o'D. It does have rather a high snark quotient, now that I think of it. I always liked it when I caught it on PBS.

Mittens! Yay! I been thinking I should make some for Peter, because he actually needs some, plus, they would be quick. I could use the stripey sock yarn that was defective in that it failed to turn into socks after many months of sitting on the needles.
